I am really happy with the quality of this box. The lid, whilst chunky, is very lightweight. It was delivered with a kind wish and a hand-drawn cartoon squirrel on a ‘compliments slip.’ I very much appreciated that nice touch. Unfortunately I have to question the calibre of my visiting squirrel. He is unable to figure out how to open the lid, unless I leave him an instruction! Accordingly I have started to wedge a ‘monkey nut’ under the lid to prop it ajar. When he spots the nut, he easily opens the lid and stuffs his little face. On days when I have not positioned that ‘vital monkey nut,’ he gives up and eats the bird seed instead!

Literally fell apart after the first bit of rainfall, the squirrel food ended up on the ground. Reinforced it with some screws as the staples which hold this together are totally inadequate.Design is fine and pretty solid but will need some fettling to make it acceptable.

Great robust feeder for our squirrel to avoid him pinching the bird nuts.
