Peanuts are still one of the most important foods for our garden birds. They are high in energy and rich in essential oils and protein, making them a firm favourite of many species including the tit family, nuthatches and the great spotted woodpecker. Peanuts are easy to feed and there is little wastage so you can keep the ground below feeders clear. We recommend that you don't over-fill your peanut feeders - just fill sufficient for 4-5 days. Then when you top up, tip the remaining uneaten peanuts back into your container - shake them up with new, and refill your feeders. This will prevent them becoming mouldy- especially in wet/humid weather.
We have recently purchased these delicious Argentinian peanuts - sized at 40/50 ( so bigger than the peanuts you see advertised by our competitors as 70/80s ), which are human grade peanuts
Do you know that the higher the number , the smaller the peanut?
These Argentinian peanuts a have a very high oil content and are bound to be a success! Do let us know what you think!
