Our top-quality sunflower heart chips (broken and small pieces of sunflower hearts created when the black outer husk is removed) are a high energy nutrient rich snack loved by wild birds all year round and provide great energy during the colder months.

Sunflower heart chips are particularly favoured by tits and nuthatches, as well as soft-billed birds such as robins and dunnocks. These sunflower heart chips are perfect for both larger birds and younger fledglings since the smaller bite-sized pieces are easier for them to handle. Whilst most of the product will be chips, please note that there may also be some small sized whole sunflower hearts present in the bag.

Sunflower Heart Chips: Feeding and Storage

Sunflower heart chips are best fed from a bird table, feeding platform or from the ground. They can also be fed from normal hanging seed feeders, but they may clog the feeder if the weather is wet.

If you would prefer to use a hanging feeder for your sunflower heart chips, we recommend that you use an easy clean feeder, where the bottom easily detaches for easy cleaning and emptying. 

Your sunflower heart chips should be stored somewhere cool and dry. We recommend that they should be used within 5 months of purchase - just to make sure they stay fresh and nutritious for your garden birds.
