Food for Bird Feeders: FAQs

  • What is the best bird food?
  • The best bird food will depend on the type of birds you wish to attract. Here are some of our favourite seeds and which birds like them best...

    • Sunflower hearts - Lots of birds will love these. They're high in calories and can be consumed quickly as they're already shelled. A great all-rounder!

    • Millet - Great for attracting small birds like sparrows and finches. This is a small grain with a sweet, nutty flavour. It's also high in lots of essentual vitamins and minerals making it particularly good for growing fledglings.

    • Peanuts - Robins, tits and wrens love peanuts! They're highly nutritious, too, making them a great addition to any bird feeder.
